PassPort Industrial IIoT Gateway
 
The Smithtek PassPort is a flexible industrial IIoT gateway built for remote monitoring, control, automation and data acquisition.
 
With Node-RED built in, PassPort gives integrators, electricians and automation professionals a ready-to-deploy edge platform for building or running flow-based logic directly at the gateway. PassPort can communicate with thousands of compatible sensors and devices, with multiple assets able to connect through a single gateway.
 
Long-range LoRa RF provides communications up to 20 km, allowing remote field equipment to communicate back to one PassPort without requiring an individual internet connection or subscription at every asset.
 
For wider connectivity, PassPort supports RF, 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and satellite connectivity, making it suitable for everything from connected industrial sites to completely remote installations.

PassPort is designed to operate at the edge, so your local Node-RED logic doesn't have to depend on a permanent internet connection. With Store & Forward, data can be retained locally if communications are interrupted and transferred when connectivity returns — ideal for remote and unreliable communications environments.
 
Built-in Node-RED
Node-RED comes pre-installed and ready to use, giving you a powerful flow-based environment for connecting hardware, processing data, creating local logic and integrating third-party systems.
Smithtek has also developed its own range of Smithtek Node-RED nodes for industrial communications, telemetry, scheduling and control, helping simplify common field applications while retaining the flexibility of the wider Node-RED ecosystem.
